Thanks for listening and clicking on a link to see my website! I always enjoy chatting with George Noory and it delights me that so many people have an interest in what I research.
First, let me clarify: I am not an exorcist. I am not equipped or capable of performing that ministry and am merely a guy who studies folk Catholicism. I am also not a wizard, a psychic, or an alchemist (just in case).
Now, for the info you want to see: a reading list!
Books on Exorcism
In my September 27th interview, I primarily discussed the book The Exorcism Files: True Stories of Demonic Possession by Adam Blai (who also wrote The Catholic Guide to Miracles). You can find it through Sophia Institute Press or through Amazon and other major bookstores.
I also talked at length about Fr. Amorth in a previous Coast to Coast AM episode. He has written several books, but I recommend The Devil is Afraid of Me and An Exorcist Explains the Demonic. Both of these books are also available as audiobooks on Audible. However, his most popular book in the US is An Exorcist Tells His Story.
What is Michael J. Lichens Up To?
Right now, a lot of my focus is still on my day job. I was the editor of Catholic Exchange for nearly a decade and my writing still appears on CE. I am delighted to be writing about books there but will also (hopefully) get more writing done on the bone churches and strange holy places I adore.
Finally, check in here once in a while. I will be launching a podcast, tentatively titled The Devil Among Yankee Farmers which will explore the folklore and accounts of the Devil in early US history (think pre-Salem and going into the early 19th century). We are writing and researching it now with a release date of Halloween 2022.
Thank you so much for your interest in my research and work.
